Seriously? Day 100. Where is this year going? Wherever it's headed, someone needs to slow that train down!
In Literature 9 everyone was supposed to take a reading check "Of Dry Goods and Black Bow Ties". I had no intention of giving this check, but it was obvious that some people didn't read the biography. After the check, everyone completed a vocabulary lesson over this and "A Brother's Crime". For homework, complete a worksheet on author's purpose (to persuade, inform, or entertain).
In English 10 they read for 10 minutes and then recorded speeches. Before speeches began, everyone chose a word related to mythology. Presentations will begin on Friday (maybe). It seems that both classes had 4 presentations. While the presentations were going on, they worked on subject/verb agreement. Slated for later in the week is a quiz over subject/verb agreement, but we'll see how things go.
In American Literature, everyone took a research check on the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner. Then it was time to watch the movie. I was hoping that they got to the end of Act II, but it seems that they were just a few minutes shy. We'll pick up on that for Thursday. For homework, everyone is supposed to read Joe McCarthy's speech that started the entire witch hunt in the 1950's.
In Law, they had a brain teaser. The rest of the class period was set aside for them to research a current Supreme Court case and prepare a presentation to the class.
I hope everyone's day was a good one. This infusion was anything but "good"; however, every day is a new day and one has to just power on. Happy Tuesday!
