Sometimes I'm truly amazed at how kids go from one idea/concept to another. A junior could be playing in band first hour, go to chemistry second, and end up studying The Scarlet Letter third hour. I over-emphasize how I switch from several subjects one after another, but really these kids are amazing.
In Literature 9 we finished our discussion of Chapter 12-13 (we discussed honorifics [Mr., Mrs., Miss, etc.], the differences between Cal's church and Scout's, Alexandra's definition of fine folks, and foils [Dill vs. Alexandra]). Then we took our check over Chapter 14. It seems everyone did great. We also finished the vocabulary for Chapter 15 (5th hour). We still have some making up to do in first hour. Tomorrow we will read Chapter 15 in class. This chapter is about vigilante justice and there are some really important concepts in it.
In English 10 we started class by checking our work on Distinguishing Verbals. We then highlighted and analyzed the Friar's soliloquy. Finally we began reading Scene 4 (between Benvolio, Mercutio, and Romeo). I'm hoping that we can finish the scenes before Easter break, but I'm having my doubts. That quiz might very well be after we return from our four day week.
In American Literature we basically finished discussing the plot line of The Scarlet Letter. Right now my intention is that we will take our quiz over this famous novel on Thursday, and then proceed to discuss Edgar Allan Poe when we return from Easter break. Hopefully my plans aren't too lofty!
In Law we finished our discussion of the events that follow a trial. We also went through the packet that deals with principals, accomplices, and accessories. We will try and finish things up and take our quiz on Thursday.
Good luck to the track team and the golf team. Swing hard and run fast!
