Today was a day of review! In both Literature 9 and English 10 we're getting ready to take unit tests tomorrow. I felt that the review went well, and most took advantage of the time given.
In Literature 9 we worked with our study guide discussing the words that give us fits - either as spelling or with the definitions. We also played a few games on the SMART board. There are two sets of study aids saved in Moodle - Quizlet flashcards and a Jeopardy game. Both of them should be helpful.
In English 10 we used our Padlet homework assignment to review the different propaganda techniques. Each group watched five different "commercials" and then decided whether they agreed or disagreed with the label given. They had to explain their answer. With the remaining time (about 20 minutes) they review the key concepts and objectives over this first unit. Remember I don't believe in memorizing lists, but you do need to recognize things when you "see" them.
In American Literature we started our lessons on The Crucible. We took a few notes over Arthur Miller, defined crucible, and then watched the first two scenes and completed the viewing questions. We will finish Act I and II and take our quiz over those two acts on Friday. Everyone was told to work on their Mayflower Project.
It looks like I'm going to have a lot to correct tomorrow. I guess that's what I get when I give tests during the final week. Happy Tuesday everyone and good luck to the girls tonight!
