I'm getting just like a kid ready for Christmas. I'm so excited to see Garth Brooks tomorrow night, and now I'm getting anxious about my family being on time, my husband feeling well enough to enjoy to the concert, and so many other stressors. I need to just relax!
In Literature 9 we had a few book talks, and they were awesome. I know they were nervous, but hey, you did great. Then we finished up our questions over "The Most Dangerous Game". We moved onto our vocabulary lesson, but because we couldn't finish it in the time allowed, we will finish it tomorrow. Those that are going to miss first period because of mass band, need to come in and finish the vocabulary worksheet.
In English 10 we reviewed our vocabulary words related to Proper Nouns and Adjectives. This coincides nicely with our capitalization exercise. We took our test, and I didn't see any smoke coming out of anyone's ears, so it must have been o.k. For tomorrow please watch the very short video on effective, ethical, speakers. We will finish up our conversation related to the Art of Communication and start preparing for our first speech.
In American Literature we finished up our Leonard Pitts annotation. We're going to continue to work on this valuable skill throughout this first unit. I distributed the Challenger Speech, but we didn't quite get to it - next Tuesday. Also for Tuesday, please read John Smith's and William Bradford's journal. This is annotated for you so answer the questions and complete the tasks that are in the margin.
Good luck to the Cross Country runners in Sioux Center today and the Volleyball girls tonight.
