Again, running on empty...until I start teaching. These people (kids) give me so much energy and enthusiasm, it's hard to stay "down".
In Literature 9 we watched our Monday video on sand sculpture. It is so amazing to see what people can create. Believe me my sand castles never looked like that. We then reviewed the Expand Your Vocabulary. (I had to provide time for students to look them up as I hadn't assigned them yet, but I was able to punt.) We then completed a SMART board activity reviewing the vocabulary words. Then we started to review the story detective. We still have to discuss point of view, mood, and one other, but then we'll move onto to allusions. We watched a Flocabulary presentation on allusions and everyone has a worksheet to finish.
In English 10 we watched the same video. Then we started our vocabulary based on groups. Everyone chose their word and the presentation is due Wednesday. Then we discussed how our Mayflower Project is going to work. We're going to use Museum Box, and thanks to Mr. Range, we now have a school-wide license. Then we started to take notes on the informative speaking, but we didn't get too far. We'll continue to work on that for the rest of the week.
We didn't get started right away for American Government so we're a little behind. We discussed the six economic functions of all governments. We reviewed the video notes the students were supposed to take (and a lot did not take any notes). They are supposed to watch a Crash Course video on Macroeconomics (it describes the various economic systems of the world). We will also be having a quiz over the notes on Wednesday.
Good Luck to the girls tonight. Play your best!
