I completely lost February. I have no idea where that month went. I realize I was busy, but man I should have had a few days that I remembered. Oh well!
In Literature 9 today we annotated "The Gettysburg Address". It was a great lesson asking everyone to think and analyze this great speech. Usually I lecture and do a lot of the analyzing for the students, but this time, I adopted the philosophy of "figure it out" and I'll help you along the way. I need to do this a little more often.
In English 10 we took a few minutes to discuss our next unit - a unit plan and a worksheet was distributed. Since so many are done with their debates, this allows to move forward with Shakespeare towards the end of this week.
In American Literature we finished our discussion of Moby Dick. What a great story to be discussing at the same time we're looking for a leader of our country. I mean who do you follow - an obsessed, albeit successful captain or someone who knows how to be humble and lead (but might not be as successful as others). It's textbook to what is happening today in our political field. We will have a quiz on Thursday over this classic novel.
In Law we finished our discussion of the famous landmark Supreme Court cases (whew - that's a lot of adjectives). We discussed Plessy v. Fergusen, Brown vs. the Board of Education, Roe vs. Wade, Bush vs. Gore, and Texas vs. Johnson. We'll have a quiz tomorrow over this key information.
Have a great day!
