Another day, another ...dollar? smile? Coke? (my saving grace!)
In English 10 we did a worksheet on inverted sentences (the verb comes before the subject). I think we've got it, but it seems like the answers are a little more wobbly than with simple sentences. We then discussed the importance of the outline. I photocopied everyone's outline, and those that didn't have them completed will be serving a detention with me to get it done. Speaking notes were next. For this speech the speakers will be allowed to have 5 notecards - one for the introduction, three for the body, and one for the conclusion. Use them wisely!
In American Government the wheels were spinning as they took their test over the early American documents (Articles of Confederation, the Constitutional Convention, and the symbols found on our money). We'll start to discuss the structure of our Constitution next Monday.
In Literature 9 we took a quick quiz over the Elements of Fiction. I'm not sure how everyone did, but in our review it seemed like we knew the terms. We then discussed strategies to be successful on our ITED's (time management, process of elimination, and SCAN/RUN). Hopefully all will find it useful for tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a chance to relax before a busy (busy) weekend.
