I'm not quite sure what happened to Friday's post, but I'll try to remember and resubmit it this afternoon.
In Literature 9 we worked on reviewing our vocabulary. We will be completing a vocabulary lesson sometime next week. We then took a quiz over "The Most Dangerous Game". This 20 point quiz basically reviewed the key elements of the story. Then in pairs we worked on a worksheet that reviewed very specific information from the story.
In English 10 we reviewed our vocabulary words (Proper Nouns), then it was time to take the test. For the most part everyone did very well. They had some good teachers. Then we took a few more notes on the Art of Communication, but our focus was on our first "formal" speech - the Past, Present, and Future speech. This speech requires the speaker to choose three items - one from the past, another that represents the present, and one to signify the future. The assignment for today was to simply figure out what those three items will be.
In American Government we reviewed the information from Chapter 1-1. We then talked about the Names and Faces of Government - Aristotle, Thomas Hobbes, and then John Locke. Then we took our quiz. Everyone should have submitted their collage over the four purposes of government. That's important as that was basically the essay question for the quiz. Everyone should finish 1-2 Guided Reading.
Thanks for being patient for the missing posts!
