Welcome back! Last week's genius week was . . . genius. I was so impressed by the quality of presentations and projects. I will admit I was a doubting Thomas, but the presentations made a believer out of me! Great job Mustangs.
In Literature 9 we started by creating a new notebook. The only page to keep from last semester is the Short Story Unit Plan. We then discussed what we read - first and last letter, the shape of the words, consonants, and the context it's used in. Then we started to discuss the context of nonfiction. We worked on a Padlet, and then read the pages 260-261.
In English 10 we also started our new notebook. We did keep a few pages from our old notebook - pg. 6, 14, 15. We will begin our vocabulary presentations tomorrow. We then reviewed the plan for the next quarter and semester. We will begin discussing persuasion and the different skills from informative speaking. Double check your vocabulary Power Point.
In American Government we didn't start a new notebook as we have to keep the previous notebook going. Everyone has to keep the first and second semester notebooks separated. We then played a little Kahoot to review and preview upcoming information regarding the Separation of Powers. We then had time to take a few notes on the Legislative Branch (3-2 Guided Reading).
Have a great Monday! It's tough to get back into the swing of things, but hang in there!
