I'm listening to the birds singing and it's so sweet. I love spring.
In Literature 9, we started the class period by reviewing both the events of the chapter and the vocabulary words by completing the vocabulary paragraph on their words. We then took our quiz over Chapters 11-16. We didn't have a lot of time after to talk about anything, so be sure to have the vocabulary for chapters 16 AND 17 done, as well as read Chapter 16.
In English 10 we started Act III. This act is all about the comparisons to scenes earlier in the play. For example, Scene 1 of Act III should remind us of Act I, Scene I. The only thing is the tone is very (very) different). I took page numbers since all you have for outside homework is reading, so keep that independent reading going. Be sure to read ten minutes for tomorrow, and also complete Act III, Scene 1 questions.
OK, American Literature is frustrating sometimes. I teach through discussion and conversation. It's like pulling teeth with you Juniors. You just look at me and the crickets begin to chirp! We discussed Chapter 4 from Of Mice and Men. We took our reading check, worked on comparing the memories of Crook's farm with George and Lennie's dream, looked at the conflict each character encounters, and finally, I previewed Chapters 5-6. This book has a twist at the end, and there is nothing more frustrating to know that people ruin it for others. Show some integrity and let people read it for themselves. Read Chapters 5-6.
In Law, we reviewed intentional torts, negligence, and strict liability. Then we took our quiz. I didn't have a lot planned afterward, but we did get a little going in the study of how a case is decided in a tort courtroom.
I hope everyone can take a moment and listen. Listen to the sweet songs of our song birds.
