Today I struggled, but it's nice to know that I wasn't the only one. It seemed so many of us were struggling with language, keeping a complete thought, and any form of thinking was pretty much a 'no go' for today. At least it's Friday!
In Literature 9 we discussed the allusion of Ivanhoe. I showed a movie trailer for this classic. Then we reviewed the characters and with that, we took our quiz over Chapters 6-10. While everyone finished up their quiz, I looked at everyone's expanding the vocabulary. These are supposed to be words NOT on the original list, and we should also look them up. We had a little time (very little) to double check our answers on Idioms. For Monday - read Chapter 11.
In English 10 we started class by reviewing subject/verb agreement. I am really struggling with who understands what because so many don't do their homework. I can't get a feel of understanding if few do their assignments. We then returned to Friar Lawrence's soliloquy and analyzed it for alliteration, juxtaposition, personification, and figurative language. We watched the scene between Friar Lawrence and Romeo, but it is also assigned to read for Monday.
In American Literature we finished up Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven." We will take a test over the Romantic authors of Dickinson, Whitman, and Poe. For Monday watch the biography of Emily Dickinson and read her poetry.
In Law we continued to work on the timeline for a trial. We discussed the indictment to grand jury stage. For Monday everyone is supposed to bring an article related to a crime that is in the trial stage.
Have a great weekend everyone!
