This day flew past like....like...well, let's just say it went by very quickly.
In Literature 9 we finished our impact web. We had some wonderful conversations about the impact and reaction from the perspective of Maycomb, Jem, Atticus, and even Bob Ewell. Then we finished reviewing tone of voice and how it was used during Chapter 24. All the while we were discussing events from Chapter 25-26. Tomorrow everyone should read Chapter 27 (often called the chapter of foreshadowing). We're getting to the end!
In English 10 we took an assessment over infinitives. Sometimes I think I've got it all wrong, but for the most part, I think everyone is on the right page (let's hope). Then we did a quick Internet search of the sport fencing. We discovered that the foil (the weapon used in fencing) is the second fastest weapon (second only to the bullet). Then because there was no way I'm giving sophomores weapons, we had a battle of wits. We hurled Shakespearean insults at each other. I really laughed and had a good time; I hope some of the students did as well.
American Literature was primarily a work day on their Lost Generation project. The project must be complete before they take the quiz on Friday. It seemed like the groups were working well, but sometimes things are not always what they appear.
In Law we discussed defenses used in a criminal proceedings. We discussed procedural defenses and then moved onto substantive defenses. I'm always amazed at the questions and scenarios students throw at me. I find myself saying "I don't know" - a lot.
Well another day, another....Really I'm struggling with words today. Happy Tuesday everyone!
