I can't believe another school year is about to begin. It's amazing how fast time can simply fly by. Those of you who are seniors know exactly what I'm referring to. I'm so excited for this year - the fall musical, the district speech contest here at GLR, a trip to Washington, DC and New York City - so much to look forward to. I know that we're going to have an amazing year learning to be better readers, writers, and above all - better people (both you and me!).
I'd love for you to come to school next week with a "new year's resolution". I know that we usually make those kinds of promises in January, but for those of us that do the "school thing" - it's a whole new year, so why not start with a new year's goal? Mr. Range challenged the teachers to come up with a goal that could be summed up in one word. And to be honest, I'm still working on mine. I hope to share that with you the first day of school. So if you can, think about what your goal for this year might be.
This past summer Craig and I took our granddaughters Gabriella and Addisyn to the Minnesota Zoo. There Gabby saw her first bear. This bear was about five feet from the window, jumping up and down on a log. While other children were crying (it was soooo close), Gabby was in awe. Let's hope that we can have several of these awe inspiring moments this year.
