Today was better, but still our hears are tender. Routine is wonderful thing to help hearts heal.
In Literature 9 we worked on our Characterization Workshop (#3-4). We'll finish up this study tomorrow. Then we took those skills and worked on mood. Since authors want their readers to all have the same experience, we looked for those words Poe used that specifically targeted the eery, horrific mood of the story. We then went to Padlet and documented our words there. Then we introduced ourselves to "Saki" - the fake name of Henry Munro. Everyone is supposed to read "The Interlopers" for tomorrow.
In English 10 we did some prediction. What were we sure was going to be on tomorrow's test? It was amazing that they "hit" every question. Then returning to their study teams, they created study aids for tomorrow's test. I know that by the work attitude I saw among the students, everyone is going to go well.
In American Literature we finished our discussion of The Crucible. We discussed the concept of a tragedy, the tragic hero, and the tragic flaw. John Proctor obviously is the tragic hero, but who else might fill this definition - Giles Corey, Elizabeth Proctor, Rebecca Nurse? We then discussed the themes we see in this play. Everyone then received a study guide. Our test will be on Tuesday.
I'll be out of district tomorrow for a convention. I hope everyone has a great weekend.
