This day just seemed to race - mostly out of control. It took me almost 24 hours to get things to slow down.
In English 10 we finally finished all the speeches in both sections. We had some time to review for our unit test (1st hour will take theirs tomorrow while 8th hour will take theirs on Monday). For the most part there has been real improvement in giving speeches. They are organized with main points, introductions, and conclusions. Although I must say conclusions are usually an after thought.
In American Literature we watched a video on Walden. Henry David Thoreau had a provide impact on our political thought/writing and our environmental movement. His contribution is beyond measure. We will be analyzing "Civil Disobedience" and its impact more fully next week.
In Literature 9 we finished up "The Interlopers". In 7th hour we discussed the commonly confused words complement/compliment and course/coarse. We then got started on our study guide. This unit test will be important to everyone's final quarter grade.
Remember the extra credit closes on Saturdays at noon. Also for all courses I will be collected notebooks next week. Have them read to turn in!
