This is a long week, yet it's only three days. Remodeling, speech, midterms, and Thanksgiving all created a vortex of challenges.
In Literature 9 we discussed how illustrations are chosen for a short story, novel, or poem, We then looked at Creative Commons and discussed the use of integrity while using the Internet. For homework, everyone is to select five images that represent key elements of the story "Sweet Potato Pie". Each image should also have a caption that indicates the author of the image (if available) and how it relates to the story. Using the questions that were assigned yesterday would be the most helpful.
In English 10 we worked on the 6 C's of informative speaking. We then discussed how to incorporate parallelism and our thesis statement. Finally, we began taking notes on introductions and conclusions. For tomorrow, another parallelism worksheet (Exercise 3 & 4 - frontside).
In American Literature we had several book talks, and I'm just so impressed with the quality of those discussions. We then corrected our Antithesis worksheet. We had a little debate going on whether Vince Lombardi or Rice was correct (a quote on the worksheet). Then everyone took a check over Walt Whitman and Robert Frost. Unfortunately, we didn't get too much further and we'll have to pick that up on Tuesday next week.
Have a great Tuesday everyone! The weekend is almost here.
