I can't believe that tomorrow is the final day of first semester. It's shocking. Time moves along so quickly that it's impossible to ever be completely caught up.
In Literature 9 today we discussed Smart Houses. "There Will Come Soft Rains" is all about an automated house, and the amazing appliances created to make the owners' lives easier. The only problem - there are no owners. They were killed in an atomic war. We discussed the basics of the story, and tomorrow we will get into the literature aspects of the story.
In English 10 we finished with our informative speeches. Then we used the rest of the class period to review for our unit test tomorrow. We discussed how to give a speech, evaluating resources, introduction, conclusions, transitions... Everyone could use a good grade tomorrow, so find time to study.
We really didn't have class in American Government. They listened to a panel of graduates describe how their lives have changed in the last six months. I thought it was pretty interesting, and I think a lot of it sunk in. We then tried to discuss some current events topics, but time ran out.
Last Monday of this school year (2015), and that's just crazy to think about. I hope everyone gets through these final few days and has time to unwind and relax through the holiday break.
