I was so surprised that I made it through an entire day without being "fooled". Usually my husband does something to try and "get" me, but this year I was spared.
In Literature 9 we discussed Chapter 7. It is in this chapter that most readers put two and two together with the gifts in the tree. This is a huge inference, but the clues are all there. Chapter 8 will be the last time the kids encounter Boo Radley. The events of Chapter 8 cause Jem to spill the beans - all of the them. Don't forget that all reading checks must be done in my class.
In English 10 we started with taking a Moodle check that reviewed our homework. Many of you were gone for Swing Show set-up. You need to get this check done. We then reviewed the terms analogy and imagery. We also went over the differences between paraphrasing translating, and summarizing.
In American Government we started the class with a 20 minute discussion of current events. I always like these days, but I worry sometimes that I do most of the talking. Then I gave some background information on Congress. Congress is made up of the House of Representatives and the Senate. It's the 114 session of Congress (Year B). We then discussed how the Republicans control both the House and the Senate. We filled out part of our 5-1 Guided Reading. Those that were absent, please make sure that you've read Chapter 5-1.
In Law we spent most of the class period preparing for our Legal Vocabulary II Quiz. We'll finish up the criminal packet on Monday (possibly Tuesday since I will be gone on Monday.)
Have a great weekend everyone! Good luck to the Swing Choir and Jazz Band on their show this weekend. Also good luck to Spencer and Dhalten at All-State. I know you'll blow the socks off your critics!
