I love Fridays, and when they're an early out - even better!
In Literature 9 we reviewed the early events of the story "The Most Dangerous Game". We defined exposition - the background information in a story - and rising action - when the story begins. We filled out a worksheet that had questions related to the plot, characters, and a little figurative language. Then I continued to read the story. For Monday, everyone should read up to page 34 and continue making predictions.
In American Literature, we started out with a check over the Puritan Law and Character. This was because we didn't get to it during the last class period. Then we watched an 11-minute video entitled "Boatlift, the untold story of 9/11". It's such a remarkable story. We didn't have too much time after that to review and discuss the Leonard Pitts essay, but we'll get to that on Tuesday.
Remember everyone to read this weekend and bank some extra pages.
