I still like the fact that it's the 22nd of September and it's the 22nd day of school. I have to apologize to anyone that I might have been short with today; I'm really tired, and emotionally spent. I try not to let that show up in class, but I'm human and it just does.
In Literature 9 we finished up our discussion of "The Sniper" - we finished the Story Detective. We spent a little time reviewing simile, metaphor, and personification. Then we watched the song "How Ironic" (and then James Corben's spoof on the song). We highlighted the ironies we found. In fifth hour we had time to review a few of the vocabulary words related to "The Leap."
In English 10 we basically took notes all class period. i hate it when that happens, but in this case it was necessary. We did take a moment and choose our vocabulary words. We shared which book we're going to read for our audio project. Some are thinking about switching their book.
In American Literature it was all about the Mayflower Project. I had mini-conferences with each group trying to encourage them to set up a schedule of what they were going to do and when. I also shared with them the Library of Congress website (loc.gov) as it will be very helpful in finding necessary research materials. I hope I got some of them on track and heading in the right direction.
As of right now, I will be gone tomorrow, but I'll journal later about the events. It will be like I wasn't even absent!
