My head hurts. I jumped from one thing to another today like a...I have no simile to put in there. Like a jumping bean! I just hope my mind holds out for another two weeks!
In Literature 9 we reviewed the five vocabulary words for "The Gift of the Magi". Then we finished listening to the story stopping along the way to discuss punctuation (why he capitalized words like "The Watch" or "The Combs"), similes, metaphors, and the importance of hair to a culture. This story is considered a classic and tomorrow we're going to identify what a "classic" really means.
In English 10 we watched a TED talk related to StoryCorps. It might have seemed unnecessary to the students but to see where an idea is born and how it's used seems to be important to me. Our StoryCorps assignment will be due on December 4. Hopefully we'll have all our apps up and running by then.
In American Government it really was Friday and we took our unit test. I didn't see too much smoke coming out of the ears, so I hope things went o.k.
This week is absolutely crazy - Tonic-So-Fa, volleyball playoffs, football playoffs, play rehearsals, grades due, oh and yeah - I need to teach. This is absolutely a crazy time of the year.
