Just a quick day because of an early out for in-service. It's also a hectic day getting ready to leave for district contest tomorrow in Sheldon.
In Literature 9 first hour began to discuss the story "Black Boy". We reviewed the vocabulary words and then discussed how segregation worked in the 1940's. We then linked our own personal experiences with that of Richard Wright's. For Monday, they (first hour) are to finish that worksheet.
In English 10 we're still trying to finish up our product speeches. We have only three or four people left in each class, but our discussions seem to take a little longer to get through. We also discussed, reviewed, whatever subject complements. We will be finishing up subject complements soon.
In American Literature we finished our discussion of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". We filled out our story map. We also tried to apply the elements of Romanticism to this early story. "Adventures of a German Student" was assigned for Tuesday along with marking the story for characters, setting, plot, theme, conflict, point of view, and tone. We also want to be aware of any Romantic elements we may notice.
In Law we are still discussing Constitutional Law. We're reviewing scenarios that deal with the Bill of Rights. On Monday we will take our quiz over the Bill of Rights, along with have a discussion of how law is being seen in the news.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Good luck to wrestlers, speech kids, and basketball players!
