I was a flurry today - I graded over 80 notebooks today. I have blue ink on my index finger! For the most part, notebooks reflected hard work, organization, and attention to detail and neatness. There were those that think notebooks are just a "grade", but to me, they've always demonstrated a work ethic and attitude.

In English II smoke was coming out of their ears. They took a test over the speech basics. From what I've graded so far, things are looking really good. There was definitely learning here!

In American Literature we finished watching Act I of The Crucible. I definitely saw disbelief in several students' eyes. Yes, this really happened.

In Literature 9 it was all about vocabulary. They completed a vocabulary lesson over Black Boy and All God's Children Need Traveling Shoes. They also had a journal about being a renaissance person. I'm anxious to see who thinks they are, who wants, to be, and who is a one-trick pony.
