Tax Day! I remember Benjamin Franklin's quote, "You can not avoid death and taxes." I've experienced taxes many times, and it's never pleasant.
In Literature 9 we discussed Chapters 25-27. These chapters are setting up for the climax. We discussed foreshadowing as well as the vocabulary that accompanies these chapters. Everyone is to read Chapter 28 (the climax). Tomorrow is the final check and we'll read the rest of the chapter together.
In English 10 we read Act 2: Scene 4 (and in first hour we managed to get Scene 5 completed). We discussed Mercutio's view of love vs. Romeo's view. We also learned of the two lover's plan to wed. We will finish Act 2 tomorrow with a quiz on Friday.
In American Government we discussed the bias that is often seen in the media. This will be the focus of our news forum this week. Then we reviewed the pros and cons of the Electoral College, hopefully cementing once and for the importance that the Electoral College holds for smaller states. We then took our quiz over the Election Process. I glanced at a few quizzes, and I'm a little worried. Then everyone had a chance to reconnect and discuss their projects - which are due in full on Monday.
In Law we focused on eye witness testimony. We completed an activity where half the class witnessed a crime and the other half had to question them about what they saw. It was very evident that not everyone saw the same thing. We then started to watch a video from 60 Minutes where an innocent man went to jail for a crime he didn't commit. This story gets to me every year I watch it.
I hope everyone has a good day. It's a little dreary and rainy, but precipitation in the spring is always a good thing.
