Today's rain made everyone just a little sluggish. I have to admit, a warm bed, the remote, and mindless vegetation sounds pretty sweet right now.
In Literature 9 we finished our oral reading of the story (excerpts). We read the ending of the story catching onto the implications that Rainsford had to kill Zaroff in order to survive. Everyone took a reading check. For Monday, answer the reading comprehension questions.
In English 10 we reviewed the vocabulary words one last time using Kahoot. Then it was time for the test. With the remaining 10 minutes we discussed our first formal speech - our Past, Present, and Future speech. This has become a staple in English 10. Everyone is to think about the three objects so when we work on the speech you know what you're going to talk about.
In American Government I reminded everyone that just because something shows up on the news feed doesn't mean it's news worthy. Choose articles that have some substance. Ten points are the summaries, three are your reaction to my article, and two to a classmate. The summaries are the key. They should show depth of reading and analysis. Four sentences just won't cut it. We reviewed all the key components from section 1 and then took our quiz. Assignment for Monday - next video (on constitutional governments) and begin thinking about the Preamble Challenge.
Have a great weekend everyone. I'm so excited to see my grandkids this weekend.
