Today was seriously one thing after another. At one point I was so overwhelmed I couldn't think. Those that were in my room during 8th hour, know what I'm talking about. I'm trying to keep my lists updated, and hopefully I'll handle the many activities and people better tomorrow.
In Literature 9 we watched a short video on Richard Wright. We read his biography and then shared information that we thought was valuable. He was a pivotal writer of the 20th century. He was passionate about his craft (writing), and he didn't allow anyone to deter him. I so admire someone who can take their passion and make a difference. We then reviewed the vocabulary words related to Black Boy. Tomorrow we will hit Expand the Vocabulary. Then we discussed Jim Crow Laws - we watched a video and also discussed it. We got started with sharing our personal experiences, but will need to finish that up tomorrow. Everyone should work on anecdotes for tomorrow.
In English 10 we quickly reviewed the perimeters for the next speech - Motivational Speech (4-6 minutes) using Monroe Sequence. Everyone is supposed to go to the Moodle link and take a few notes on the Monroe Sequence. Everyone's mythology power point should be uploaded to Moodle. We then got through between seven and eight speakers. Hopefully we will get through rest of them tomorrow.
In American Government we held up our coloring pages concerning Separation of Powers. Most had their colors all correct. We then reviewed delegated (expressed, enumerated), implied, and inherent powers. We also watched a few short videos on Separation of Powers and Checks and Balances. We started playing a game called "Claim/Don't Claim". We'll finish it on Wednesday.
In Law it was mostly current events. We've had some great discussion. I also enjoy differences of opinions. We don't all have to think alike, and that's what makes our country so great.
Have a great Monday!
