Another Monday here again. I swear the weekend moves faster than any other two days of the week. I realize that it's the same number of hours, but those hours seem to move so much faster.
In Literature 9 we discussed the elements of a Narrative Essay. It's just like telling a story; it will have characters, setting, events, and a climax. Then we looked at Dr. Angelou's use of imagery in telling that story. We moved on to discuss the overall term structure (the way a piece of literature is put together). That was one full class period.
In English 10 we worked on selected the correct subject or object pronoun. Then we began giving our Six Word Memoir speech. Some of the students really took time to prepare well, while others appeared to wing it. I know that the sophomores will lean that a quality speech will take rehearsal time. All in all this was a good project. One that I plan to keep for the future.
In American Government we spent the class period working on the Six Economic Functions of a government. These six functions are found in any type of government - from an autocracy to a democracy. We discussed five of the six, with the plan to finish up on Wednesday.
Tonight is play practice and a few other personal errands I need to complete. Too many things to do and not enough hours to do it.
