Boy I thought today went by very fast today. It was first hour and then all of a sudden it was eighth hour.
In Literature 9 I really enjoyed making the comparisons between structure and homes. We really saw some unusual homes. We're going to use that information later in the week. We then took notes on Text Structure. We are trying to learn the Columbia form of notetaking. Some are catching on very quickly, while others are still struggling. Hopefully as we continue in class, we'll master this important skill.
In English 10 we finished our memoir speeches. I really enjoyed the effort put into this project. I learned a lot about my students. Some are very insightful, while others are still learning what makes them tick. I love that about high school - it's all about the discovery. We reviewed the unit plan for our oral interpretation unit. This should be a fun project.
In American Literature we discussed allusion (a reference to a person, place, event, etc that we should be aware of). We then continued to watch The Crucible. The students seem to be really enjoying this film. I can't blame them. It's well done, and it's thought provoking.
All and all, a great day. There are days I love what I do, and this is one of them!
