Today was a little more manageable than yesterday. Not that at any point I felt like I had things together and organized!
In Literature 9 we finished the skills portion of our test. We reviewed the questions before we read the short story, so I hope that helped. We then turned in those vocabulary lessons. We worked on reviewing for our unit test tomorrow. I feel bad for pushing the test up so hard, but with a three day weekend, I don't think we want to wait until Tuesday to take the test.
In English 10 we finished up the last of the speeches (1st Hour), we reviewed indirect and direct objects (1st Hour) and began our discussion of parliamentary procedure (8th hour). Hopefully at some point I will be able to get the two classes to mesh; however that could take a few weeks.
In American Literature we took are second check over the reading in Of Mice and Men. We discussed very briefly the hierarchy of the ranch. We reviewed the basic facts in the story. Then we had our presentation of Herman Melville. We started our discussion of Moby Dick, but unfortunately we didn't get too far. Hopefully next Tuesday, we'll get a real good start on this classic novel.
In Law we discussed judicial independence. When judges are in danger of losing their bench for a decision not supported by the public, that is losing judicial independence. This is definitely an issue in Iowa. We also discussed due process and Bill's bad day. I distributed a crossword puzzle to start the review process. Hopefully everyone can do well on the various reviews to prepare for the test on Tuesday.
See you tomorrow! It's FRIDAY!!!!
