OK, I look for weird number things - and it's the 20th of September and day #20. Cool.
In Literature 9 we worked a bit on our irony workshop. Then we took a check over The Sniper. I want everyone to know that I always look at the short answers and overwrite anyone's answer that is technically correct but Moodle counts it wrong because of typo or adding a period. After we took our check, we then worked on the context clues for the vocabulary. Some of the words you can really tell what they mean by looking at the sentences. We had time to review three of the vocabulary words. Everyone is supposed to fill out the Story Detective (with one pass for one of the boxes).
In English 10 we're still working on getting through our speeches. We managed to review our homework on Direct Objects. A second worksheet was given, and we will move onto predicate adjectives and nominatives soon.
In American Literature we started out by working on our vocabulary. We compared our lessons with our team and then divided up the next set of words. The rest of the class period was really used to review the questions on William Bradford's journal. It was a little disheartening to see the number of students who don't do their homework. There were a lot of deducted participation points. I also talked about the "mini-conference" on Thursday. Each week students will receive 15 points on the growth of their Mayflower Project. Each group needs to have specific learning goals and schedule of work lined up. I will grade using a rubric designed to look at collaboration, creativity, research, and historical accuracy. Fifteen points a week times eleven weeks - 165 points. That's a sizeable grade!
Sorry if you were looking for me after school. During seventh hour I really got dizzy and had a headache. I went home, slept awhile, and felt much better. I'll see you all tomorrow!
