I was gone today for a coaches' meeting, but with Mrs. Meester here, I'm sure things went very smoothly.
In Literature 9 we started class with three questions about Anton Chekhov. People were to read his biography on page 758 and answer three questions concerning his life and contributions. A quick check over the parts of a stage was given. Then in groups of three, everyone was given time to read "The Bear". According to Mrs. Meester, things went really well. Have it entirely read for tomorrow.
In English 10 first there was a review over Act III. Terms like pun, hyperbole, etc. Then everyone took Act III quiz. It's time for us to branch out on our own and read Romeo and Juliet independently. So the assignment for tomorrow is to read Act IV, Scene 1.
In American Literature there was first a reading check over Our Town. Then Mrs. Meester shared Emily Dickinson's poetry and contributions. This was to accompany the worksheet everyone received several class periods ago. For Thursday we will be moving onto Walt Whitman.
In Law I sent a "fun" article on Torts. Then using the packet, they were to finish discussing the elements of a tort, Licensees and Trespassers, etc. Working on the review found on page 81 is the only assignment they'll have for awhile as we will be conducting our crime scene investigation tomorrow.
I hope things ran smoothly without me. I know my classroom can because I have great kids with a good substitute. See you tomorrow.
