Today we filmed a human flag using the entire high school. It was so neat to see how well we came together. I really hope this video can come together as easily!
In Literature 9 we handed in our Ship Trap Island maps. There were three-dimensional maps, a Minecraft map, and some really amazing illustrated maps. I was really impressed. The rest of the class period was spent working with our vocabulary. Not the most exciting thing, but a necessary evil for me to know how everyone is doing with the presented vocabulary.
In English 10 we quickly reviewed the important information from this first half of the unit. Then it was assessment time. No one likes quizzes or tests, but they are a necessary "evil" in education. The rest of the class period was spent rehearsing for our Past, Present, and Future speech.
In American Government we discussed the lack of "focus" some seniors have concerning their grades. There are several that haven't completed their homework, turned in current events, and then flunked the quizzes. It's not nice to say, but in order to walk across the stage in May, one needs to pass the course. Then we turned around and over 13 did not have their notes done on the various forms of government. Let's just say that this senior teacher is not NOT happy with the choices that some of our seniors are making. We then shared information from a reading entitled "Who Rules?" After sharing then the pods were supposed to decipher which government the country has based on the clues given in a post card. We didn't have a lot of time to review things, so we'll do that on Friday.
It's kind of nice knowing I don't have to return to school for play practice tonight. What will I do with all my spare time?
