Sorry this is a little late. I had a meeting last night, then rushed to a hair appointment, then RCYF Youth Group. I didn't sit down until I laid down for a quick night's rest.
In English 10 we're still listening to demonstration speeches. It is my hope to finish by Friday, but it's hard to get to more than just four during a class period. I have to admit I'm learning a lot. Some are very very good, while others don't look like the speaker took much time to prepare.
In Literature 9 we finished up the "Lady or the Tiger". This is such a frustrating story as we want to know without a doubt whether it was the lady or the tiger, but Frank Stockton said that he didn't even know. We then introduced the famous story "The Most Dangerous Game". In 22+ years this has been such a popular story with the students. I know they'll enjoy this one.
In American Government their Chapter 2 tests were returned. It was the tale of two exams: the first part was usually pretty good, but the second half - YIKES!! Those that struggled with the back half of the test have the option to come in and correct it. It must be done by Friday. We then took our Preamble Quiz. Some were quite prepared, while others - not so much. We discussed limited government and federalism. Both of these are key reasons why our Constitution has lasted for over 225 years.
Happy Wednesday (actually it's Thursday by now), but the sentiment was there!
