May...May?...May! Oh heavens, it's the fifth month of 2018 already? I can't believe it. School ends on the 25th of this month. Where did all the other days go?
In Literature 9, we began talking about what a 'fine folk' was (according to Scout and Aunt Alexandria. I like Scout's answer - a fine folk is someone who does the best with what they have - a common sense approach. Aunt Alexandria is all about heredity. We finished our discussion of Chapter 13 - we didn't really get to it yesterday. While everyone took their check, I went around and looked at vocabulary. Unfortunately, it looks like a quiz is in our future. We then worked on our Chapter 14 questions. For tomorrow, complete the first exercise on the vocabulary. We'll finish the paragraph later. Also be sure all your questions are completed. We're going to read Chapter 15 together tomorrow.
In English 10, we reviewed Scene 3-4 (Friar Lawrence and Romeo & the Nurse). We then took a check over Scenes 3-4. Since Scenes 5-6 are so short, we managed to get those read and also watched. We worked on our study guide. For tomorrow, have the vocabulary exercises completed, and we are going to have a quiz over Act 2.
In American Literature, we started by talking about the scene with the dog. From there, we discussed the caste system as it appears on a ranch. We took our Chapter 3 check, and then completed the CLOSE - what the farm will have and what the farm will not have. I also distributed "The American Dream". On May 15, you will turn in what your American dream includes. Don't forget that part of this assignment is to put together some kind of plan to fulfill just one of those dreams. Read Chapter 4 for Thursday.
In Law, I tried hard to get through the packet, but unfortunately, it was a no go. We got side-tracked talking about teachers and the strike in Arizona - a breach of contract. It did fit with our topic, but we didn't get to the rest of the notes. For tomorrow, hopefully, we can finish the packet as our torts test will be on Friday. Crime on Monday.
Have a great Tuesday. Remember to attend tonight's awards night.
