I'm sorry that this is getting posted a little late, but my granddaughters surprised me after school and I just picked them up and went to play.
In Literature 9 we finished reading To Kill a Mockingbird. It is always bitter sweet for me as I so want the story to continue. I introduced Kohlberg's six levels of development, and this is due on Tuesday. We will review Monday and Tuesday and take our unit test on Wednesday.
In English 10 we worked on verbals (just for a little while) as our focus was on our Act II Quiz. We used Quizlet as a review guide, because how on earth am I going to come up with new questions for a play that is over 600 years old. Then as homework we had a worksheet on locating and identifying verbals.
In American Literature we took our Lost Generation quiz. I tried a new technique that I thought worked. Everyone started their quiz and worked independently for about 10 minutes. Then (leaving their quizzes on their desks) met with their groups to ask any questions that they might have over the quiz. That conference lasted about three minutes. Then each student returned to their quiz and finished. Those that were confidant turned them in right away while others had an opportunity to make any modifications. I felt like it held everyone individually accountable but at the same time allowed for some collaboration.
In Law we continued our criminal unit. We're discussing out part in the upcoming forensics/law simulation. Then we reviewed prosecution and defense strategies. The test will be next week.
Again sorry for the delay, but granddaughters will always trump blogging!
