Another cold day in Iowa, but at least we didn't get any snow. Our neighbors to the north weren't so lucky.
In Literature 9 we reviewed the events from Chapter 1-5. We discussed the study guide and then took our quiz. It seemed like everyone did pretty well. We then started a timeline trying to keep the passage of time straight in our heads. We will need to finish up the timeline in 7th period, but for the most part we're good. Read Chapter 6 and complete the vocabulary.
In English 10 we started out by reviewing what appositives and appositive phrases are. There is a worksheet to complete for tomorrow. Then we reviewed vocabulary words related to social sciences (up to #10) We then started to discuss Shakespeare's World. We will continue to put into context the life and times of Shakespeare tomorrow and probably Thursday.
In American Literature we took our final reading check over Of Mice and Men. We then had our presentation on Mark Twain. Since half the class read Huckleberry Finn, we won't be as detailed with the story as before. Yes it kind of stinks for those that didn't read it, but thems the breaks.
In Law we reviewed the structure of the federal court system (USSC, appellate courts, and trial or district courts). We discussed the jurisdiction and powers each of the courts have. We'll try and finish up our discussion of the USSC tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a relaxing night. See you tomorrow!
