Happy March Madness reading everyone! It was so fun to see people snapping pics with their favorite books, turning in the puzzles, and enjoying the presentation (Good Job Mrs. Negus!) I hope the rest of the week goes as well.
In Literature 9 we finished reading Chapter 15. It's surprising that a little eight-year old girl can break up a lynch mob. Maybe we should have put a few children on the front lines in Fergusen, maybe things wouldn't have gotten so far out of hand. In both classes we took a check, but unfortunately, we didn't get to the timeline in 7th hour. Tomorrow we will be taking a quiz over the material.
In English 10 we started with comparing and contrasting gerunds and participles. Not fun, but necessary. Then we had a little fun - trying to figure out how to crash the Capulet party. Some party-goers were quite creative. I had poetry, cash, and compliments thrown in my directions. Some found themselves on the outside looking in.
In American Government we finished our discussion of the qualifications of the president, along with his Constitutional duties. We did discuss what it meant to balance a ticket, as well as the responsibilities of the vice-president. Very little time was left to work on our decision-making project, but I hope we can get to it more on Wednesday.
In Law we discussed the four elements of a crime (duty, violation of duty, criminal intent, and criminal liability). We then applied it to various situations. Tomorrow we will finish our notes on Chapter 5-1 and get started on our criminal packet.
Have a great day, and don't forget to read!
