Well the unofficial end of summer is here, and fall is right around the corner. To be honest, I've actually noticed the trees already beginning to turn colors. I love fall, but I hate allergies and impending doom of winter.
All classes used a city they would like to visit as a new pattern for our seating chart. It's my goal to have a new seating chart every month. Hopefully I can come up with a new pattern every month.
In Literature 9, after watching our dancing babies, we reviewed the vocabulary words. Then we discussed why the community might have enjoyed this form of justice. It was difficult to think about whether I would have joined in something that was so barbaric. We then tried to finish up the story map of "The Lady or the Tiger". I think we'll have a little more to cover tomorrow.
In English 10 we had four more presentations, which leaves between four and five. Our test is tentatively scheduled for Thursday. We had an opportunity to practice asking someone for money, but conceded that it probably was a realistic conversation. Finally we took notes on the five communication arenas. Everyone is suppose to work on a personal inventory regarding what they would share and what they wouldn't.
In American Literature we created our vocabulary teams. We have some strange names, but it looks like it will be fun. Those teams are responsible for teaching the words to each other. On Thursday they will have about 7 minutes to work with the words. Then we continued to take a few notes on the characteristics of the Puritans. We will be applying it to our future reading. I distributed a journal from William Bradford - September 6, 1620. What is ironic (and a little creepy) is that it is September 6 2016 (just switch the last two digits around). Good catch Riley!
Good luck to all the athletes - cross country, football, and JV volleyball.
