Plans can change in a minute. I'm not sure what happened with my afternoon classes, but I'm going to write down those things I had planned, and then we'll adjust as needed.
In Literature 9 we read for our ten minutes, and then started discussing one of my favorite stories "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." The reason I love this story is that I don't ever want to be Mitty. He reminds me a lot of George Gray - never doing anything to make his life better. We took our reading check and also reviewed the vocabulary. Second hour we managed to explain the Mannequin Challenge a bit, but fifth hour we'll have to set you up. You're a great group so I'm sure we'll be fine.
In English 10 I kind of left Mrs. Wynia and Mr. Judge to their own devices. Hopefully, you worked on your outlines and bibliographies. I know you corrected your comma assignment as I found the answer key on the desks. We'll talk about how the speeches will go tomorrow in class.
In American Government we discussed the Constitutional Convention compromises - the Great Compromise, the 3/5ths Compromise, and the Commerce Compromise. I'll finish that up on Friday. Next week will be a busy week for Government - your Constitutional Test is due along with notebooks. We will also take a test over the Founding Father's Vision for our country. One of the biggest controversies over the adoption of the Constitution is the lack of the Bill of Rights. Watch a video posted to Moodle and complete the accompanying worksheet. Current events due on Friday!
Thanks to all you help the chaos of yesterday. I trip to the ER for your husband is never fun, but when you have co-workers and students who handle things for you, it's so much easier. I love you all!
