The 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour...thank you to all those who have served, are serving, or are considering serving. As a daughter of a veteran, an aunt of a Marine, and an eternally grateful citizen - thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service.
In English 10 we listened to a few demonstration speeches. I learned how to make bubbles, hit the volleyball, be safe when bow hunting, and how to plan a wedding (I might have had that covered!). Tomorrow we will continue to listen and evaluate speeches.
In American Literature we worked on our resume projects. We haven't had American Literature for so long - ITED's and now today the Veteran's Day program. I hope everyone is staying caught up with their reading.
In Literature 9 we discussed the origins of Veteran's Day for awhile. We also watched a story on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Then we started our discussion of "The Lady or the Tiger." Everyone has the opportunity to retake the Elements of Fiction quiz and also retry the "Lady or the Tiger". Hopefully people will take advantage of those opportunities.
Happy Veteran's Day!
