Hello all. Today went just as quickly as the other days. I sometimes feel like I'm jumping from one thing to another.
In Literature 9 we started out class discussing what kind of prey Sanger Rainsford would be. We decided since he was athletic, level-headed, knew all the tricks of the trade of hunting, and logical that he would be an outstanding challenge to General Zaroff. We then reviewed the last of the vocabulary words, including the "Expand Your Vocabulary". We looked at our predictions and why we might have been right or wrong. We shared some of our acting talent again - so much fun - and discussed why each of the men acted the way they did. Everyone is supposed to finish the story for Monday.
In English 10 we reviewed the vocabulary related to Proper Nouns. There is a review activity on Moodle, but we quickly discovered that no one could open it. Sooo, I created a new one on Quizlett and forwarded the link to everyone. We then looked over the Art of Communication Unit Plan (green paper). We used that as a review for our quiz. Then we took our quiz. Everyone is to read the perimeters for our speech "Past, Present, and Future".
In American Literature we took a reading probe. No one likes doing these, but they are necessary to see how our reading is progressing. The probe at the beginning of the year is to establish a baseline for our reading. Then we took 15 minutes to review with our teams. I was so impressed how everyone worked so hard in their teams. Finally we discussed how the six Puritan principles were seen in the literature they used to teach their children (The New England Primer).
All in all - another fantastic day.
