The sun is shining, but the building is really cold. Everyone keeps saying how nice my room is, and until I stepped out into the hallway, I didn't know what they were referring to. Now I know! Burrrr, it's cold.
In Literature 9 we skipped our silent reading so we could finish up our story. We first started by putting the plot elements together - what actually happened in the story from the beginning to the end. Then we took another set of cards (green) and put it together how the story was structured. The next step was merging the two. It helped us understand the way flashback worked in this story. We then discussed the theme and defined motif. Tomorrow we will have a quiz over the story. Please remember to read for you ten minutes as we didn't have time in class.
In English 10 we also skipped reading at the beginning of class, but we did manage to get ten minutes in the middle of the class. Each group then worked on finishing up their propaganda stations activity. Then we read. We finished up with discussing the importance of recognizing propaganda and being critical listeners. For tomorrow be sure that your padlet group has met and completed the worksheet.
In American Government, we finished our discussion and video on income disparity. We then tried to get in a circle to share and compare our countries. The only problem is we ran out of time. We will continue this discussion next week. For homework, everyone should watch the video notes on Democracy. Remember that Current Events is due next Wednesday.
Congratulations to the boys and girls Cross Country team. What a wonderful showing of Mustang Might!
Have a great Wednesday everyone!
