Whew, we made it. The first day of school is over, and I'm sitting at my desk realizing I didn't get half of what I wanted to be completed done. Am I already behind? That's just crazy.
Literature 9 (2nd and 5th Hour): We watched the type of teacher they needed - a dog or a cat. A young lady tried to ski down a ramp for the first time in her life, and she reminded us what the first day of any new thing looks like. We started our stations' activity, but to be honest, we didn't get too far. Tomorrow we will try and get that completed. If there were any slips that weren't done, you were instructed to finish. Hope your first day was memorable!
English 10: Kind of the same thing as the Freshmen. We caught up what was going on in each other's lives, Then we moved onto the station activity. Obviously, they don't need the full ten minutes to complete. I moved it down to nine, but tomorrow I might give even less time per station.
American Government: We took a test to see if we could pass a citizenship test. Also on that paper was a current events survey to complete for Wednesday. We watched a great motivational video entitled "Make Your Bed," and we applied it to our daily choices. I really think I will share that with each class. As a class, we signed up for Remind, and we also created our blue cards for participation. We the time remaining we talked about what it is to "flip a classroom". A video entitled "Why Study Government" is posted to Moodle along with a five point quiz.
What a great way to start the year! I hope I can make this a year you'll all remember...ane me as well. That's a taller order as I forget what I had for breakfast! Have a great night!
