I swear the weekend went by so quickly! I had a lot on my plate, and I didn't feel like I got any of it completed. Oh well, just keep plugging away is my mantra.
In English 10 we worked on the next four vocabulary presentations (#5-8). We'll wait until Wednesday to do the next couple. I hope to have a quiz over these words scheduled for yet this week. We also discussed appropriate rules for social media. It was interesting to see that if we were the parent we would have stricter rules than if the roles were reversed. We then began to discuss inflection and it's importance in a vocal personality.
In American Government we took our first unit test. I didn't see too much smoke come out of people's ears, but I haven't had a chance to look at them yet, so I don't know how we did. We will be starting to discuss the background of our first government - the Articles of Confederation.
In Literature 9 we tackled those little demons "lay" and "lie". Because we say them wrong in Iowa so often, we don't have an ear for the correct usage. Threw/through and wear/were/where are another story. This is just plain laziness. We know how they're supposed to be used, we just don't edit our papers, postings, etc. for the correct way. We began to take notes on persuasion. We didn't get too far, but hopefully we can pick it up again on Wednesday.
Happy Monday everyone!
