Happy Birthday to my son-in-law Jon. I know he probably doesn't read my blog, but just putting it out on the Internet!
In Literature 9 we discussed Chapter 8. So much happens in this chapter - the kids (well Jem anyway) put things together that Boo is really just a nice guy who wants to be left alone. Maudie's house burns down, and Mr. Avery becomes the subject of a snowman. We took our check over Chapter 8, and again - everyone did really well on the vocabulary! Keep up the good work. For Monday, pick a scene from the first eight chapters and illustrate it. Points are given for effort and details. I realize not all of us are artists, but we can at least give it a try.
In English 10 we took our vocabulary tests over Social Sciences. I think it went well, as we could classify them pretty easily as a review. We then started taking notes on the Elizabethan Age. I think everyone was pretty well grossed out by our discussion of wigs, why they wore gloves, and bathwater. I'm looking forward to starting Shakespeare. Who would have thought a pre-law major would love teaching literature!
In American Literature we took our unit test on Of Mice and Men. I think it went well, and the essay question must have really got people thinking as some were telling me they wrote A LOT. I'm so glad everyone enjoyed the book as much as they did.
In Law we had share an article day. I hate this day because we hear the absolute worse of people. We then got through a few famous Supreme Court cases. We'll finish that up on Monday.
Have a great weekend!
