Another Monday is here, and it seems like everyone is dragging a little bit. It was such nice weather, that I think most of us spend some time outside. I enjoyed Friday evening with a firepit and my granddaughters. Believe me it doesn't get any better than that.
In Literature 9 we did a little housekeeping. The notebook should be completely updated. All papers are returned. We sometimes forget to write down our scores from Moodle. For Drill the Skill we worked on timelines. I really enjoy the website Time Toast, but this would be something we use for bigger projects. We simply used an easier website to document the events of our lives. We then reviewed the vocabulary from "Into Thin Air." "Into Thin Air" is a great memoir about facing a challenge. We started reading it on Thursday, but it needs to be completed done by tomorrow.
In English 10 we had our five vocabulary presentations. These words aren't the easiest to say (or remember). We'll have to work on finding strong connections between the word and its definition. We then continued to take notes on Oral Interpretation. Students will soon have to complete a short reading using the vocal and physical delivery patterns.
In American Government I really had fun! I loved watching you play "Rock, Paper, Scissors" for tootsie rolls. Hopefully we were able to follow the connection between socialism and capitalism. Remember that the simulation doesn't take into account in capitalism there is a "choice" in all aspects of the market. I took that away from you. Hopefully the rest you'll remember. We'll continue to discuss the four economic systems, and then begin to study for our test.
All in all, it may be a Monday, but it was a good day!
