It's crazy how fast time is flying. It's nearly the end of the quarter already, and I have this overwhelming feeling we're behind. I know that this is simply in my head, but it creates a sense of urgency for me.
In Literature 9 we began by reviewing Saki and Poe, along with their two stories. Then we took our quiz. This was a little tougher one, so some had a little trouble finishing. For that I apologize; I might have spent too much time with our review. For tomorrow everyone should begin reviewing for our unit test. This will include all six stories along with the skills we've been working on.
In English 10 we started with reviewing our vocabulary words and then sharing our "unique" ways of remembering them. Sorry Matt for the slam on lineman not being "real" football players. It helped all of us remember 'bumptious'! :-) Then using our listening journals from the past two days, everyone is supposed to answer the questions regarding their listening on a journal on Moodle. Don't forget to turn in that listening log.
American Government was all about solutions. What can we do to "fix" some of the problems we see in our world today? I know a pretty tall order to fill. However we had some excellent ideas - quite a few concrete solutions. It was obvious that some people really took time to think about these issues. Then I challenged the Seniors - what can we do? Not the United States government, not even Iowa, but us - GLR, what can we do? I shared how Craig and I sponsor a child. That might not change the world, but it changes Emmanuel's world. What can we do as a school to make a difference in a world that is hurting?
I hope everyone has a good Wednesday. It's a little cool, but it's great "sleeping" weather.
