Congratulations to the boys' basketball team on their substate win last night. There is such a level of excitement in the school today - it's kind of hard to concentrate!
In Literature 9 we reviewed the vocabulary words. We played the game Kahoot and then reviewed our study guide deciding which words give us fits. We also started our discussion of persuasion. For tomorrow study for the test, and also complete the worksheet (pg. 377).
English 10 we turned in our outlines, provided page numbers from our books, and rehearsed for ten minutes. Then we had time to give two speeches. For tomorrow read for your ten minutes and rehearse!
In American Literature we started our conversation on civil disobedience. We first defined civil and then disobedience - much easier :-) We then read an article about the 1968 Olympic medal ceremony where Tommie Smith and John Carlos stood with raised fists. Everyone was to complete the reverse side of that worksheet. Also, vocabulary groups were made and everyone divided the words. For homework, complete the survey - how transcendentalist are you?
In Law, we finished crimes against personal property. Everyone is supposed to come up with five scenarios and tomorrow we will try to guess which crime you are describing.
Have a great day everyone!
