A little late but I'm sitting here Saturday morning thinking about the past week. It had its good moments and definitely its difficult ones. I love the entire play process, but I have to admit I hate the casting process. I know someone somewhere is going to be disappointed. The auditions were so awesome that this year's was even more difficult. After the scoring of the auditions, several of the actors (especially the girls) were dead even or within points of each other. So then it came down to scheduling. The more flexible the scheduling, the better the part. It's a good thing - so much talent! I know this play will be amazing, and it will touch our actors, producers, and our audiences!
In Literature 9 yesterday we completed a reading probe. Then we reviewed the weekly concepts - we read first and last letter along with consonants, left to right, top to bottom. Remember to read "A Brother's Crime".
In English 10 we also completed a reading probe, a necessary activity every year. We reviewed the main concepts - the communication model, the five communication arenas, and the seven characteristics of an effective speaker. Start thinking about your Past, Present, and Future Speech.
In American Government we watched a little Channel One. Then we finished our discussion of Chapter 1-1. We reviewed the qualities of a state, how a state is born, and the purposes of government. We discussed the impact of Thomas Hobbes and especially John Locke on our American history. Everyone should have turned in their "state" project. There is a journal about the purposes of government; this should be completed by Monday.
I hope everyone has a good weekend!
