Wow, where did this week go? I realize that it's a four-day week, but it still flew by. But if I'm going to be totally honest, I'm exhausted and need the weekend to recoup.
In Literature 9 first hour was short-changed with reading time. We needed to get our reading probe completed, so I, unfortunately, had to take a little time away. We then spent quite a bit of time creating our reading goals and targets. We all set a date in our calendars for finishing our books. We then read page 10 in our textbook about the author Frank Stockton. On the web that was given, they decided on three pivotal facts that were "brain cell" worthy. What should we remember about Frank Stockton two weeks from today? six months? For homework, they are to fill out the reading web - the plot, the characters, and the setting. We will be having a quiz on Monday over the story.
In English 10 we also calculated our reading goals and target date. I must have gotten better with my explanation as it didn't seem to take as much time. We then reviewed some of the information from the video "The Art of Communication". We classified communication into the three categories - large group, small group, and two-person. For homework, everyone should get their vocabulary presentations completed and work on a capitalization worksheet.
In American Government, we discussed the four characteristics of a state, the four theories of how a state is born, and the four purposes of government. We then took a check online. After all was completed, the class was divided into four tribes for the purpose of state creation. Don't forget to complete your current events for Wednesday. For Monday there is an article about 10 states that are in the "birth canal" ready to be born.
Have a great weekend everyone!
